Chapter 18 The Empty Temple and the Empty Man

Mingyue of the Great Song Dynasty http://www./0_1/

When the moon passes, there will be heavy rain.

Li Congke saw through the astrology and the dream of Yan Qiangwei. Although he could not be regarded as a formal astrology master, he also had a first glimpse of the way and penetrated the way that night, rather than the worst.

Just when I first look at the door, I can't get to the hall or enter the room. I can't watch the stars and the moon and know the wind and rain. I only know the wind and rain are about to come, but I don't know when the wind and rain will come.

Besides, the eyes of one person do not represent the eyes of all beings, and the land of a city does not represent the land of a country. Even if Tianshui City really welcomes the ruthless baptism and violent irrigation of the water of the Tianhe River at a certain day and at a certain moment, the rest of the prefectures, counties and towns that should be shining with sunshine will still be sunny and bright, with clear weather and will not be affected much.

That is a phenomenon that has been difficult to reverse for thousands of years of causal and effect.

It is just because the so-called cause and effect in Buddhism is either intercepted by the laws of heaven and has never responded. If it happens by chance, it is mostly between life and life.

Shazhou, Dunhuang.

In different eras, a place always has different names, either from states to counties, or from counties to counties, or from counter-industry to reverse, and changing its appearance between rising and falling. In this way, what can be preserved is undoubtedly the rare essence left after the big waves wash away the sand. It has been talked about by the world for many years and yearn for a long time.

Just like the ancient god Fuxizhi in Tianshui, Qinzhou, Dunhuang mentioned in ancient books such as "Records of the Grand Historian" and "Book of Han", there are also various legends, lofty beliefs, and the great achievements of Buddhist culture.

One Buddha, one path, one river and one long.

Judging from the theory that Buddhism and Taoism are integrated, Hexi and Longxi seem to be able to form a whole.

In fact, when most people mention these two places, they do have the habit of connecting Helong and reading together. However, although both areas are border fortresses, they have extremely high strategic value and significance. Compared with the Longxi area, Hexi's experience is undoubtedly more ups and downs and full of twists and turns.

During the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, Dunhuang was still in the scope of ancient Guazhou, with descendants of the Three Miao people. The ethnic group named Qiang and Rong nomadic settlements here.

During the Warring States Period, the Dayuezhi people, Wusun people and the Seed race emerged in Dunhuang. At first, the three tribes coexisted with the original Qiang Rong. Later, the Dayuezhi rose strongly, the Qiang Rong was annexed by it, and the Wusun people and the Seed race were expelled from the country. For a time, the Dayuezhi in Hexi area was in the limelight.

Unfortunately, the good times did not last long. In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, the Huns, who also relied on nomads, began to invade Hexi on a large scale, forcing the Dayuezhi people to move westward to the Mesohe River Basin. At that time, the entire Hexi Corridor was the territory of the Huns. This situation was not until the second year of Jianyuan of Emperor Wu of Han, who sent Zhang Qian to the Western Regions to contact the Dayuezhi, Wusun and other tribes to attack the Huns inside and outside, which was improved.

Soon after, the Silk Road came into being. It started from Chang'an, went to Dunhuang through the Hexi Corridor, then went out of Yumen Pass and Yang Pass, along the northern foot of Kunlun Mountain and the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain, and was divided into two lines north and south. The southern line started from Dunhuang as the starting point, crossed the Pamir Mountains through Loulan and went to Anxi. The northern line also started from Dunhuang, but went through Gaochang, Kucha, and crossed the Pamir Mountains to Dayuan.

It was from that time that Dunhuang became the throat key to the transportation between China and the West, with a vast territory, reaching Longleyang Pass in the west, Yuanquan in the east, Yiwu in the north, and Xiqiang in the south.

During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties after the Han Dynasty, the Hexi area was obviously inferior to its prosperity and prosperity in the past. One of the big reasons is that the turmoil was too frequent. In a hundred years, the Hexi region had successively established regimes such as Former Liang, Later Liang, Southern Liang, Western Liang, and Northern Liang. The speed of changing dynasties was no less than that of springing up after the rain!

Even when Li Hao established Xiliang and became king, he set a precedent for the first time, using Dunhuang as the capital, making Liangzhou the political and cultural center in the north, and in a short period of time, he still could not erase the series of bad effects caused by the years of war and the war.

However, compared with the Central Plains where heroes compete, Hexi seems relatively stable. Since the Five Barbarians invaded China, there have been many people in the Central Plains who fled to Hexi for refuge, including some great Confucian scholars of the times. The introduction of Confucianism has had little impact on people living in the Hexi area, and compared with Buddhism, it cannot be said to be great.

The prosperity of Buddhism in Hexi is Dunhuang, which is the channel and gateway for Buddhism to spread eastward, so it is not an exaggeration to call it the center. In the second year of Jianyuan of the Former Qin Dynasty, Monk Lezun opened a grotto for Buddha in the Daquan River Valley at the foot of Sanwei Mountain, which is the famous Mogao Grottoes, which fully demonstrated the respect of the people of Hexi for Buddhism and Buddhism.

It’s just that people respect Buddha, and people respect Buddha, and want to seek blessings and merits with incense and fire. They don’t get what they want at any time or anywhere. Many times, even their basic lives are not guaranteed.

Dynasty was built by people, and rise and fall were life and death. It was nothing more than a difference between one person and tens of millions of people, so naturally they could not escape the conclusion that seemed like fate.

I wonder how great the momentum of the Former Qin Dynasty was?!

First, the former Yan was destroyed, then the former Liang was destroyed, the eastern seas were destroyed, the west was joined by Kucha, the south was surrounded by Xiangyang, and the north was deserted. All countries sent envoys to discuss, and the Central Plains were all under the Former Qin, but the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which was in peace, confronted him.

In the end, the tragic end of the Later Qin Dynasty killing the emperor, the Western Qin Dynasty destroying the prince, and the country destroying the mountains and rivers.

After the Sixteen Kingdoms, the north and the south were divided, the Northern Zhou destroyed the Northern Qi, and the north was restored and the north was settled. It was only possible to go south to complete the great cause of unification. However, Emperor Wu Yuwen Yong died before he achieved great cause. The young master was weak and had no ability to control the powerful ministers. The great country was finally obtained by Yang Jian.

Emperor Wen of Sui also believed in Buddhism and issued several edicts to build relics towers in various states. He ordered them to go far away to Dunhuang to open more than dozens of caves in Mogao Grottoes, all of which were grand in scale and superb in skills.

After Emperor Wen died, Emperor Yang ascended the throne. At first, the national strength was in full swing, but in the later period, there was a great chaos. The Turks took advantage of the situation to rise. In July of the 13th year of Daye, Li Gui, Sima of Yingyang Prefecture, Wuwei County, raised his troops to rebel against the Sui Dynasty, occupied Hexi, including Dunhuang, and established Liang Kingdom in Liang, established the capital of Guzang, and established Yuan Anle, and surrendered to the East Turks.

It was not until the second year of Wude that Li Gui was wiped out by Emperor Gaozu of Tang.

In the 19th year of Emperor Taizong's Zhenguan period, the eminent monk Xuanzang returned from India to obtain scriptures, returned to Chang'an through Dunhuang, and reconciled in Hexi, and Buddhism flourished again.

During the Xuanzong Dynasty, the Anshi Rebellion broke out, and the overall national strength of the Tang Dynasty declined from prosperity, and Tubo took advantage of the opportunity to capture Longyou, Hexi. In the second year of Jianzhong, Shazhou was trapped in Tubo, and then the towns of Hexi were successively occupied. Once the fall lasted for decades, the Tang army returned in vain.

It was not until the reign of Emperor Xuanzong that the Han Dynasty Zhang Yichao led his troops to form the Guiyi Army and fought fiercely with Tubo. He recovered Guazhou, Shazhou, Xizhou and other places. Because of his great achievements, he specially led the posts of the eleven prefectures in Hexi, including the Jin Zi Guanglu Dafu, the Minister of Personnel, the Censor, and the Marquis of Wanhu, and the Marquis of Wanhu in Hexi.

In the 13th year of Xiantong, Zhang Yichao died in Chang'an. The Hexi situation was much easier. At first, his nephew Zhang Huaishen tried his best to manage it. Unexpectedly, Zhang Yichao's son-in-law, Suo Xun, who was then the governor of Shazhou, suddenly launched a coup and established himself as the governor of the army, almost killing Zhang Huaishen and his brothers, wives and concubines.

It was this move that once made Li Mingzhen and his wife seriously dissatisfied. They were worried and took the lead in attacking. After careful planning, they finally led their soldiers to kill Suo Xun, and instead supported Zhang Chengfeng, the grandson of Zhang Yichao, as the governor of Guiyi Army.

In the third year of Guanghua, Zhang Chengfeng was recognized by Emperor Zhaozong of Tang and was officially appointed by the court as the governor of Guiyi Army and the governor of Dunhuang. He also received many other titles, so I will not mention them for the time being.

No matter how good things are, they will appear complicated and trivial when there are too many things. Just like a person who is beautiful, he will feel bored when watching them all day long.

Although the title is strong, people's hearts are still cold and weak, and they are not retro. In this way, what's the use of maintaining a false reputation?

In the end, it was just a waste.

......

An "empty temple" without Buddha statues, an "empty man" who lacks sincerity.

Two-way pairs are silent.

He looked around the temple for a long time, but still didn't know when the Buddha statue that should have sat cross-legged on the back of the golden wheel and enjoyed the worship and sacrifices of Buddhist believers from all over the world was removed. I think that when he came to this temple, he would not know when his true heart had withered like a broken flower and a scattered flower from the moment he stepped into the temple gate because of the baptism of the Buddhist scriptures in the past.

Entering the Kong Temple is like a hiding monk. Even if you lack true heart, the words "Seven emotions and six desires" cannot be cut off by cutting them off. Otherwise, how could there be such a saying as "Wild fire cannot be burned out, and the spring breeze will grow again"?

He looked at Kong Temple and laughed inexplicably. Then he habitually tidied up his hairband's collar. He knew that there was no dust on the white clothes, but he still looked at his fingers, like touching a string of a piano. His expression on his face and his grasp of the sound were exactly the same as when he was young.

But he is indeed middle-aged.

Neither physiologically nor psychologically, I can return to my middle age as a teenager.

"The three lights came yesterday to turn the brilliance, and the six counties were full of Taoism."

"The fields should not be moist this year, and the fruit trees in the home are like jade resin."

"There are ten mills of water in the river, and the gurgling flows over the hundreds of canals."

"It must be a good harvest and a low price. I will stop the army and read the documents."

A poem in the temple was chanting for only fifty-six words, which was heard by him, but it was even louder than the 56 monks chanting Buddhist scriptures at the same time. They turned the empty temple into an empty valley and echoed.

Poetry is different from scriptures. Poetry can be made into scriptures, but scriptures may not be made into poetry. Moreover, the scriptures are obscure and often enter people's ears but not popular. Even if they work, it is mostly for the benefit of those who recite the scriptures. It is rare to have one or two listeners among ten people. Don't just mention the word "confidence".

Because of this, it seems that whether a chants have a confidant or not is much secondary, but those who recite poems must have a confidant beside them in order to maximize the significance and charm of the poem.

It is not easy to have him here in the empty temple without Buddha statues. At the same time, will there be another person here?

A falling rock suddenly appeared on the ground and became the answer.

"Why, I think I'm not lying well, so I can't help throwing stones? I'm a little lacking in accuracy, Lan Gu."

"There will be a mistake when falling, and there will always be a deviation."

The temple door has not opened and the side windows are silent.

A faint fragrance came out of nowhere, blooming orchids and turning into human form.

In the blue sky and white sun, there is an ancient Buddhist temple, if you see ghosts and monsters.

Seeing this, the man in white only smiled faintly and said, "It turns out that there are also orchids in Kong Temple."
