Chapter 136 Ling Chen's Faction Mission (Part 2)
Ling Chen selected the essence of his sutra, wrote three volumes of the new Buddhist teachings, explained these ideas separately, and established the specific methods of monks to practice. There are three core methods: one is that monks should be self-reliant and work personally; the second is that while preaching, they should also study things and learn about everything, study all things, explore the Buddha nature contained in it, and summarize and record them; the third is that they should listen to the suffering regularly, solve the actual difficulties of believers, and try their best to find real solutions, rather than just verbal explanations and empty talk, which can only calm the believers for a moment, but cannot solve the long-term problems.
Then he ordered people to implement these three items in the four major temples.
These things are easy to say but difficult to do. People have always been able to put forward seemingly perfect social theoretical solutions, but very few of them are truly implemented, and those that are often implemented are distorted.
But this time Ling Chen entered the battle world and brought in 10,000 intelligent replicas that absolutely obeyed his orders, and only lent to Baolai 500 people, most of which were still under his control. These people were naturally the best candidates to implement Ling Chen's theory.
When believers burn incense and worship Buddha, they mostly seek to have enough food and clothing and live a safe life. He asked monks to find these solutions and seek reality to solve the difficulties for believers, rather than just telling them to eat more vegetarian food and chant Buddha's name, and worship more of the Three Jewels to solve the problem.
How to make believers have enough food and clothing? He first selected a few people from the monks who had a background in agriculture, ordered them to organize agricultural classics, organize agricultural tools, seeds, fertilizers and other agricultural techniques. He ordered them to teach believers in the evening, and also ordered these people to lead the people to reclaim land and renovate water conservancy during the day.
So the monks followed what he said, practiced their own actions, helped believers to reclaim wasteland during the day, led them to develop water conservancy, and led believers to pray and recite scriptures at night, calm their minds, and teach them farming and weaving techniques. Of course, some consumption of candlelight is needed for this, but it is also worth it.
The government never went to the countryside, unless it was to urge taxes and collect civil servants. These daily tasks were thought to be clan management. Now Ling Chen is doing experiments. The dozens of villages attached to him had the property of his temples, and he had the right to do so.
The fundamental reason for the development of water conservancy and the revitalization of agriculture is that Ling Chen did not come up with any high technology here, because he understood that the so-called technology can only be used for a while, and it will really last for a long time and will change people's hearts.
A monk from the side of the country was puzzled and asked him privately, saying that he would be different from other peasant families and other families. Wouldn’t he lose the majesty of Buddhism and our noble and mysterious traditions?
Ling Chen replied: "The Buddha said that to save all sentient beings, is it better to save those who have enough food or those who are hungry? The lotus blossoms on the tongue cannot compare to a bowl of white rice; the words of great virtues cannot compare to a place where a cone is established. If the granaries are full, they know etiquette, and if they have enough food and clothing, they know honor and disgrace. Only when sentient beings no longer worry about food and clothing, can they have the ability to understand their minds and see their nature, and they can become Buddhas. In addition, they are all wrong paths."
Those who chant scriptures while hungry can be chanted for one day or two days, three or five days, and ten or eight days, all monks understand this principle.
He also said, "If your Buddha only saves the rich and the powerful, he does not have to care about their food and clothing. My Buddha will save all the people and the people, and he will first save their mouths and stomachs before they can redeem their hearts."
After some words, although the monks in the Youfang felt that it was inappropriate, they still found it difficult to find solid arguments to hinder Ling Chen.
These three seem simple, but they are difficult to implement. However, Ling Chen has the best executor, and the ten thousand intelligent replicas will conscientiously implement his new practice method regardless of the fatigue.
After using this system for three months, it finally started to work. The land of the attached villages in the temple under its jurisdiction increased. Although there were not many, it was indeed convinced by the believers and believed that worshiping Buddha was effective. Many simple people sent the increased grain and fruits to the temple. Ling Chen did not refuse, but ordered people to build granaries and reserve them. Those fruits that were not worthy of long-term storage were shared with others.
After finishing the experimental field on his own territory, what Ling Chen had to do was to promote this model. He sent out 10,000 people he brought in in batches, and also sent dozens of indigenous monks with great understanding. After all, he still had to leave this world. Only when these indigenous monks truly understood can they become aware of it.
Ling Qi brought fifty people to Luoyang. This was the capital of the Han Dynasty at this time, with millions of people. This place is naturally the best place to promote the new Buddhism. But there is already an ancient temple here, called Baima Temple.
The task Ling Chen assigned him was very simple, which was to promote his new Buddhism, build new temples, and strive for new believers.
When the White Horse Temple was built and the Emperor Ming of the Eastern Han Dynasty, of course, this world was not real history, but just applied its background.
Ling Qi entered here twice. When he first entered, he died in the civil strife of farming ethnic groups. According to the analysis of this period, it was probably the period when the Eastern Han Dynasty rose. However, the civil strife has long since subsided, and the new emperor of the Han Dynasty, Liu Hao, began to use troops to the grassland.
After arriving in Luoyang, Ling Qi passed the test and entered the city gate with the monks.
Along the way, I heard passersby excitedly and talked a lot.
"A few months ago, the emperor personally conquered the grassland, led 50,000 infantry and cavalry, defeated 300,000 Xiongnu Khan, and had outstanding martial arts, far superior to previous generations." An old man was stroking his beard, blushing, and was talking to the people around him.
"I'm really powerful today"
"The emperor is indeed mighty."
Ling Qi and others did not feel that if they were normal people, they would definitely think that this was just relying on the power of our brothers. With the ability of the emperor, it would be possible to chase the Huns in the north, but it would be impossible to achieve such an amazing record, but they were not normal people, so of course no one would join in the fun.
According to Ling Chen's arrangement, they had to obtain the support of the Emperor of Han first. Ling Chen left a hand and let Baolai go west. This was strategically forced Wang Hao to unite him instead of excluding and attacking him. Otherwise, they would have to take big risks. Ling Chen could change from being neutral to joining Baolai, so that Wang Hao would inevitably fail in the camp mission.
When Ling Chen was playing chess in three parties earlier, he expected that this situation was currently in his interest to help either party get rid of one party.
After a series of complicated procedures, it took half a month to get the reception from Wang Hao in the side hall.
Although Wang Hao went there in person last time, it is not easy to see him, the emperor of the Han Dynasty.
"Why are you here?" Wang Hao sat upright on the throne and looked down at the dozens of monks below. Of course, he knew who these people were, but this identity gap and tone of speech still made him feel sincerely happy.
"A monk in Chongming Temple, Beiting, my Buddhist temple was enlightened and wrote three volumes of the new Buddhist teachings. He came to present to His Majesty for the purpose of saving all people." Ling Qi naturally had no feeling, so he took out three volumes of scriptures written in cloth from his arms and raised them with his hands.
Wang Hao couldn't recognize the person he had given his partner a contract, and he said, "Left and right, come on."
Soon a eunuch took the cloth scriptures from Ling Qi's hand, then carefully checked them, and found no special problems, so he bent down and presented them to the emperor respectfully.
Of course, Wang Hao would not worry about the mystery they made. Moreover, when these people came in, everything was strictly checked, and there were preventions for whether it was poisonous or not. He took the cloth.
